The Chico Public Safety Association is a non-profit, non-partisan, independent employee organization, representing non-sworn personnel at the Chico Police Department.
The purpose and objective of the association is to improve and advance public service, to represent its members in all matters relating to employment conditions and benefits, and to promote harmony among members for their mutual protection.

Membership includes
Community Service Officers (CSO),
Public Saftey Dispatchers (PSD),
Animal Control Officers (ACO),
Animal Control Supervisor (ACS), and
Communications/Records Supervisors (CRS).

We are responsible for the booking and transportation of prisoners, answering routine and emergency calls for police and fire services, radio dispatching police, fire and medical personnel, animal control services, parking enforcement, and numerous other public service tasks provided by the Chico Police Department which do not require a sworn police officer. We provide support for sworn police officers, facilitating their work, and improving public safety in our Community.
We are your friends and neighbors, working with you and for you, to improve the quality of life in our City, and making Chico a better place for all of us to live and work.
